The Chardonnay Run: Crowded, but well-managed and fun. I took a lot of pics for other runners to support the movement to End Drunk Selfies.
As you can see, we got a glass of chilled wine and a decent box of fruit and cheese and crackers afterward. A pretty course, mainly flat and fast.

I loved the Defarge Does Shakespeare review. Sorry, I'm catching up on podcasts during my vacation. Just had to comment on this segment. I will be teaching the International Bac this year and this has me thinking about ideas for projects and activities. 1. Shakespeare Fridays. Instead of doing a month of one play, we do Shakespeare every Friday. It can include reading aloud, writing essays, and group work on a mock productions. To instruct and inspire; include sonnets, opportunities to write sonnets, the possibilities for art, music and dance. (Defarge Knits series as a fabulous example. 2. They all have to do a portfolio. What if the portfolio included creative essays, as well as academic essays, these could include costume & set designs, character drawings of any of the books we read, music and dance. All of the above would have to be accompanied by an essay explaining the connection and interpretation of the creative work. 3. Wouldn't it be amazing if someone wrote a sonnet in lieu of academic essay. In other words, they still include the academic information but write the entire thing in sonnet form. (Maybe that should be bonus points.
