What's On My Hooks and Needles:

Mother Bear Project--the website, for info on making bears.

Finished:

Nope.

In Progress:

Zombie Socks: In the Deep Hue Sea yarn from The Yarnover Truck.

The Southwestern Entrelac Scarf--a few rows of love...

Knitting Group Scarf

AND...

The Gryffindor Vest
The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller. No, I have neither finished not forgotten this one...
Eleanor Scarf--spun from Eleanor's undercoat and knitted in my favored checkerboard pattern.

My LYS: Creative Ewe Studios

Dizzy Blondes:
A gift from the boss's boss of very thin, unspun fiber ebing spun on the Akerworks spindle.

Strategy:

Breathing revisited.

Put a Lid On It:

Instant Pot heaven.

Find millions of recipes on FB and on Pinterest. I am gemmadw on Pinterest and I even have a board dedicated to the IP now.
Aw Shoot!

Sort of stuck in a holding pattern...

Something I Really Like:

The Iwatch.

Buy a prettier band on Amazon for far less than Apple will sell you one.

Blather:

Teaching a leftie how to knit...success! Stocking up on tea from Teavana, since it is going extinct. I spent 2 days at the PCIT conference at UCLA with my team. Improving the on-the-job culture at my job. The birthday tea party and the new tea cabinet in my department.

Calendar:

Dec 13-17: Anaheim for Evolutions Conference!

Eleanor hates the Instant Pot because I am paying so much attention to it, instead of to her. So she roosts on my spot on the old sofa to protest when I am using the pot.

Also, Entre to Entrelac book.

My LYS: Creative Ewe Studios

Dizzy Blondes:

Not much, really.

Strategy:

Taking Criticism 2: Expect surprises and give yourself a moment. Plan precise behavioral change.

Put a Lid On It:

Not much. Ignoring pomegranates. But we are getting an Instant Pot! I keep calling it the "Quick Pot". A multi-purpose pressure cooker.

Aw Shoot!

SOrt of stuck in a holding pattern...

Something I Really Like:

OBDII Port Reader--Buy it here. Then get a reading app for your phone to connect to the reader and interpret its results. Now you can determine why your Check Engine light came on without a dealership! EOBDfacile is the app I use on my iPhone.

Blather:

I started a knitting group at work! Meanwhile, I have now collected all the rare birds in PGo. A bit about Sunnybank this year. My scarf auctioned for $90. Cheated on the eclipse, but I do not really mind. Who knew how nice the Detroit airport is?

Fearless survived the loss of one of her 9 lives!

Dizzy Blondes:

Planning to take the Spindolyn to Sunnybank to spin for the Collie folks there. Thinking of learning to needlefelt.

Planning the t-shirt quilt and the Pennsylvania Dutch pattern for some hand embroidery (fraktur). A bit about hexen as well.

A bit about how to make a t-shirt quilt.

Strategy:
Learn your financial patterns. And see the section below on Apps to manage money.

Put a Lid On It:
Fiesta Salsa and Jalapeño Salsa canning for the year. The 2-day method: one day to just run tomatoes through the mill, a second day to actually make the salsa.12 pounds of tomatoes made 17 cups of processed tomatoes. 13 pints total between the 2 types of salsas.

The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller. No, I have neither finished not forgotten this one...

Or this one:

Eleanor Scarf--spun from Eleanor's undercoat and knitted in my favored checkerboard pattern.

Dizzy Blondes:

Considering how to use the yarn I still have from Eleanor.

Strategy:

Tolerating Criticism I:
Letting your critic know that you have heard them. Using neutral voice. Not agreeing that the critic is right, just making clear that you've heard their ideas.

Put a Lid On It:

Cherry harvest is done. Results: tried cherry marmalade recipe--not especially worth the effort. Black Forest Preserves are a hit again this year. A bit about processing tomatoes before making sauces or salsa. My recommended ice cream maker is from Cuisinart. My beloved tomato press is here.

The Cake described:

Aunt Mim's Cake Plus:

Use a boxed cake--Devil's Food. Replace water in mix with 2x strength coffee. Make as 2 layers. Between layers, use Black Forest Preserves as ganache. Frost with cream cheese frosting:

1 brick softened cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 bag confectioners (powdered) sugar to taste

Mix the above, with sugar to taste. Decorate with fresh, sliced cherries

Plans: Time to make fresh salsa and bread and butter pickles.

Sorbet: 5 peaches or nectarines or plums make a fine batch of sorbet! No peeling, just simmer and then into the sorbet!

Easy Smoothie:
frozen banana
watermelon chunks
white grape juice
filtered water
peach sorbet
frozen cherries (pitted)
blueberries

Whiz around in blender.

My favorite books:

The Joy of Pickling
The Ball Book of Preserving Foods
The Joy of Cooking

What's On My Hooks, Needles, and Spindles:

Mother Bear Project--the website, for info on making bears.

Finished:

The "Stuck in Traffic" socks! I LOVE THIS COLORWAY!!!

In Progress:

Easter Egg Entrelac scarf

The Southwestern Entrelac Scarf

Also, Entre to Entrelac book.

My LYS: Creative Ewe Studios

Several pairs of socks:

Gray Dawn--another Collie scarf for the Terhune Sunnybank memorial

The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller. No, I have neither finished not forgotten this one...

Or this one:

Eleanor Scarf--spun from Eleanor's undercoat and knitted in my favored checkerboard pattern.

Dizzy Blondes:

A small harvest from Baron. No real spinning right now, due to need to heal my damaged sinuses.

Baron and Eleanor have both had major summer groomings. Due to extreme heat and damned foxtails, no great undercoat harvesting this year!

Strategy:

Trust: the 6th law in the book below, but the first law, in my own experience. Issues around group shaming behaviors.

The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership --Meh.

Try The Leadership Challenge
The Happiness Advantage

Put a Lid On It:

Cherry harvest is done. Results: tried cherry marmalade recipe--not especially worth the effort. Black Forest Preserves are a hit again this year. A bit about processing tomatoes before making sauces or salsa. My recommended ice cream maker is from Cuisinart. My beloved tomato press is here.

I had such a great helper again for this year's cherry picking:

We managed the cherry harvest, with a lick and a promise, due to it occurring at the same time as the pneumonia infestation.

Have I mentioned that you REALLY NEED a good ice cream maker? Peach sorbet and a recipe for banana sorbet.

My favorite books:

The Joy of Pickling
The Ball Book of Preserving Foods
The Joy of Cooking
The Perfect Scoop

Aw Shoot!

Starting things over after rather serious lung issues. Running Dog podcast has also been forced on hiatus, due to my inability to record and speak for that long a stretch.

Something I Really Like:

Hemp oil--and NO! IT'S NOT WEED!!!

Blather:
We all survived our various versions of pneumonia just after Memorial Day. Pneumonia sucks, BTW:

Baron has been shaved, while Eleanor has been very seriously groomed and shed out. Beloved Son is doing well with hockey.

Fearless the Cat demands equal time and representation:

Nike isn't taking this lying down:
