Guess what needs blocking?

Yup. A few ends to weave in also. Colour me happy!

We have armholes!

yarma

We finally have decent armholes on the top-down Kureyon vest! Single ribbing worked, after multiple fails with seed stitch and 2-2 ribbing.

It is so amazing how the fit changed drastically for the better with proper armholes.

On to the neckline!

What's On My Hook/Needles/Spindle:

Still in Progress:

The Pivot Shawl by FickleKnitter (Michelle Miller)...At about 180 stitches wide. But no pattern in the main body this time.

yarma

My Hitchin' a Ride Shawl in crochet, not worked on this week. An easy first shawl for new crocheters. I also recommend the Simple Scallops Shawl for an easy crocheted shawl.

My Noro Kuryon vest. Still on time-out, but new yarn purchased for armholes--chocolate brown this time. The yarn is sitting 0n the front porch as I type this.

Traveling Woman --3rd repeat of Chart A is done. Nothing new on this one.

The Holly Holiday Stocking for my twin. Working my way down the foot. Still. But in love with the Paton's worsted yearn.

Dizzy Blondes:

The wonderful alpaca fiber is actually on my drop spindle from YorkieSlave on Etsy. Thanks, Suri Gurls!

BeeMiceElf fiber in SWM in a luscious dark cherry semi-solid is now being Navajo-plied..

Done the second braid of the BME SW Merino in Grapevine.

4 oz. bump of Lisa Souza SWM in colorway Agua Fresca--done! On to the second bump, then plying together. A bit about its color(s).
Zarzuela Knits and Crochets

Something I Really Like: Ericah64's patterns! Erica Hernandez IRL.

CFR updates. Buy your pattern(s) for the Mother Bear bear-making class right here.  PATTERNS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THE CFR.

Mostly blended into the Hooks/Needles/Spindles section, really. Did I mention that we all got major sunbirns horsing around in the surf last weekend at Ventura's public beach?

Who fans, listen up!

I just realized, thanks to an LYS, that a Tardis-themed knitted shawl exists right here for free:
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss12/PATTbigger.php

The yarn suggested takes slightly more than one skein and costs $26.50 per skein, leaving you with enough left over to make a pair of socks!

Too much, although lovely stuff.

WEBS (www.yarn.com) to the rescue! On their site, I found Cascade 220 Sport in the perfect blue for (are you ready?) $5 per 220 yard skein.

For $18.50 (includes shipping), I get 3 skeins. Twin gets the shawl of her Whovian dreams!

Shopping' til I drop

Big Knitpicks order last night, due to their 40% off book sale. I stocked up on books for door prizes for the Fiber Retreat. It's always fun to shop for prizes, I must admit--all the pleasure if a spree without buyer's remorse.

BTW, this ousting comes via the new Blogger app on my Itouch. Very handy! I have always wanted to give more time to this blog, and the app makes it easy. I highly recommend it.

Special Night Redux

Special Night Redux: you may know that I spent a night last week sleeping in our tent with our son. It was a first for the family. Well, tonight, we relive the action--but this time Dad is doing tent escort while I sleep indoors.

BTW, I have recorded episode141, but the editing has a long way to go, on both the blog and the audio! You may have to check back for the corrected notes.

Here is a pic of my boys gearing up for their night outdoors.

What's On My Hook/Needles/Spindle:
