Warm Thanks :
DeviantStitch and DCAlaneKnits and TurboGal--for warm birthday wishes. Yes, Beloved Son is local at community college for now.
TurboGal on social vgames: "I’ll add one comment on video games. Computer time (video game time) was the one thing we fought with our son about when he was a child and teenager. Even thought we always limited it, eventually I realized that not all video games are alike. For him, it was the way his group of friends socialized - he would be on the computer, with a headphones on, live playing some video game with his friends and trash talking each other through the whole game. It could have been almost the same conversation they would have had playing on a basketball court, but they happened to be in the virtual environment of the game. This wasn’t the only way he interacted with his friends (plenty of time they were in person), but it made me realize that not all video gaming is the same and that you can build real connections with virtual interactions (maybe easier for this digital native generation). And now, he is off in college and he still stays in touch with those friends by gaming regularly together."
