What's On My Hooks, Needles, and Spindles:

Finished:

French Press Tea Cosy in sport weight spun from fiber from Zarzuela's Fibers:

Pattern is CO 36 st
Rows 1-2 K2P2,
Rows 3-4 P2K2 checkerboard stitch pattern
Knit in pattern until fabric wraps all around cylinder until you reach handle. BO 3 st, knit in pattern until you get to top edge of handle and BO remaining st. Break yarn and go back and knit live stitches in pattern to make tab that passes through handle. BO when long enough to cover gap through handle and pin or otherwise close on other side. My cylinder is 12 inches tall.

Pompons were attached to both Baa-ble Hat #1 and #2,

Meg Warren's clever doggie revision of the Baa-ble chart.

In Progress:

Continental Knit Scarf in my own checkerboard pattern.

The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller. Coming along at last! I've learned to take lifelines more seriously than ever!

Blue Waffles Socks

Dizzy Blondes:

I finished the braid of mixed wools from Yarnosphere on my Russian spindle and moved on to drop spindling a braid of SW Targhee from BeeMiceElf in colorway "Hologram".

Strategy:

Instead of making a lot of boundless resolutions for New Years, make one good, detailed plan with checkpoints to help you assess your progress.

Book Report:
Dreams--a lovely collaboration between FickleKnitter and Zen Yarn Garden Yarns. Ebook download from Ravelry for $22. (US)

Put a Lid On It:

Winter kitchen: making lots of turkey pho and broccoli soups from leftovers from holiday feastst and a surplus of delicious organic broccoli. And never underestimate how delicioud cinnamon-pickled beets are with plain soups.

Aw Shoot!

I finished the Reindeer Run 5K on Dec 20; no races for a while as I work on getting back into my groove with the ease Into 10K app from Blue Fin Software. Weather has been horrifying...at least for southern CA.

Something I Really Like:

HRC: the Hogwarts Running Club--sort yourself into a House and join us!
Apps for charity on iOS:
Walk for a Dog
Charity Miles

Blather:

The thyroid nodules seem calm enough and I am still waiting to be sent to an endocrinologist for biopsy. Yawn. We are starting to pack the bags for Fiji, which again coincides with Stitches West.

We celebrated Boxing Day by dressing up Eleanor. It's part of a Collie's duty in life.

Calendar:

The Calendar of Upcoming Events:

Feb. 18,  2016: Fiji once more!
Oct 8, 2016: CFR8! Mark your calendars!

Yes, we saw the new movie! And loved it!
