Episode 111 is Live

Artemis

I have lost my wonderful friend of the past 6 years. Artemis died quietly of unknown causes at the age of 12 years. I have lost the beloved friend who ran up the road every evening to greet my car as I returned from work. She takes a big piece of my heart with her.

Mother Bear Project Bear #10. They look so pathetic at this early stage.... This is due for finishing the scarf.

4x4 Sweet Tortie Socks, being made in SWM from FatCatKnits, colorway is Sweet Tortie. Very soft and luscious, but too scrambled to look good as anything but a good pair of socks. I can't wait to wear these babies!

Dizzy Blondes:

So it's plying time again...
2 bobbins of BeeMiceElf merino in lovely pinks and purples...

Episode 110 Notes

IMAG0327

Yes, this is a VERY late posting of this episode, mainly because we took a few days to return to the site of our wedding on Mt. Shasta as a way to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was fantastic!

Finished:

Multnomah Shawl--

Blocked and simply gorgeous! Oh, I adore using my own handspun!

IMAG0292

Mother Bear Project Bears--Number 9.  A little on the short side, due to a yarn that pretends to be worsted weight but certainly cannot be.

Wristers: Finished! #1 is a little tight, but certainly usable, as I have discovered on a few early morning runs.

Still in Progress:

TwinFace's 2011 Holiday Afghan, themed after the Third Doctor of Classic Doctor Who. Pray I have the grit to continue!

Dizzy Blondes:

It's Tour de Fleece, so I am working away on my wheels again....

What's On My Hook/Needles/Spindle:
Finished:

Multnomah Shawl--

It still needs blocking, so no good pics yet. But it is very pretty and a bit sophisticated looking, perhaps because of the unusual colors. Made from my handspun, I am please to say.

Mother Bear Project Bears--number 6, number 7, and number 8. All of a sudden, I just got the bug to make these...

IMAG0273.jpg

While visiting the Knitmore Girls, I sent Bear #6 on a mission into Jasmin's fiber stash. We would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids...

Still in Progress:

wristers: One done. I have not yet successfully started the second. Blast!.

IMAG0270.jpg

TwinFace's 2011 Holiday Afghan, themed after the Third Doctor of Classic Doctor Who. Yes, that center square in blue was designed to look like the windows on the outside of the Tardis. This one is about hald finished, so I need a bit of oomph! to get back to it as those rtows get longer and the weather gets hotter.

Dizzy Blondes:

The wheels are silent this week, and Retzlaff Winery postponed their spinning event. But I got to hang out with the Knitmores anyway, so I had a GREAT TIME!

Strategy: About Passive-Aggressive People--Passive does not mean passive aggressive, and, sadly, vice-versa.

Something I Really Like: Yoga Tune-up balls. Get them here!

Blather:

We have a webiste at http://www.cogknitive.com/. You can find older episodes there. I am still busily uploading them, though. Please be patient.

I got a weekend at Knitmore Central! What a blast! I even got Yoga tune-up balls and a great class in Los Gatos. I also enjoyed the northern CA gloom (I really did!) and the excellent company. I came home richer by some fantastic recipes, a glorious cookbook, and some tasty pickled goodies. Meanwhile, I search for jobs, work on prepping and freezing fruit until I decide what to do wirh it, and train Blankets.

Amish Friendship Bread

Here you go, Everyone. Blog entry with recipe for finished loaf and for starter. Now start passing it around.

Here are my variations:

1: Add 2 cups mashed, steamed squash or pumpkin. Add 1 very ripe and mashed banana. Use banana cream instant pudding. Reduce sugar by half and oil by 1/3 cup.

2: Add 1 very ripe and mashed banana. Use banana cream instant pudding. Reduce sugar by half and oil by 1/3 cup.

3: Add half of 12 Oz bag chocolate chips. Use cookies and cream instant pudding. Reduce sugar by half and oil by 1/3 cup.

4: Add half of 12 Oz bag chocolate chips. Add large, very ripe, mashed banana. Use chocolate instant pudding. Reduce sugar by half and oil by 1/3 cup.

I think you could probably take out the sugar all together.
