Out-Takes: More TNNA Love

yarma

A little more from TNNA 2013 in Long Beach, CA

Here are clips about Knitter's Pride Needles and Little Lamb and Ewe, an LYS in Gresham, OR.

My warm thanks to the ladies who so graciously allowed me to interview them.

Never say "Never."

I wish I had a picture of this.

I was in Bakersfield last night as a severe windstorm struck the area, including our farm. The pool blew over, and the tent collapsed in our front yard.  When the animals were frightened, my Beloved made the decision to bring the smallest ones into the house.

So Baron and the 3 alpacas spent a few hours inside. In the master bedroom, as it was the most easily accessible space to get 3 frightened camelids and a boisterous 160-pound Newfie pup into.

After a few hours, the winds died, the animals relaxed, and everyone went out again. In case you are wondering, they ALL are house-broken.

I would have done the same thing. The animals have to come first.

BTW, I love you, Sweetheart. After 25 years, I am amazed at how many times a day, I still realize that marrying you was a great call.

No time to sit down at the wheel right now...trying to ply the llama/alpaca/silk/merino

Strategy:
Catalog your GOOD qualities. Recognize what you are good at, and enjoy these qualities.

Put A  Lid On It:
Oh yes, I DID!! Pickled lemons! Read more about them here.

From the Ball Book of Home Preserving

10 lemons--5 juiced, the other 5 in quarters
4 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup salt--no iodine in this salt!
8 bay leaves
2 tsps. whole black peppercorns

Toss the lemon quarters in the salt.
Then divide everything between 2 quart jars (sterilized before you load them), including the salt left over from tossing the lemons in salt.
Fill to within half-inch of top of jar.
Put lid on and ring. Close finger-tip tight. Shake up and then place in dark spot or in brown bag. Turn jars upside-down once per day to redistribute salt.
