Dizzy Blonde Studios Mean Girls' Yarn Club still has openings!

Strategy:
Selective Journaling

Put a Lid On It:

Some cooling down of the weather has led to stews and such in my kitchen.

Aw Shoot!

Okay, so I have discovered that I can use a mild running injury as an excuse to wear a tight skirt and low pumps and walk slowly....

The racing season is upon me!

Summer Running Essentials:
Please remember to hydrate you and any running pals.
Important facts:
one gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds
Any mammal can carry only up to one quarter of its weight.

Ruffwear backpacks for dogs.

Something I Really Like:
I'm watching Season 1 of the AMC series Once Upon a Time on Netflix.

Blather:

We have completed an amazing summer. Struggles to get an appropriate educational placement for my son. Thanks to our own well-loved Allison 1031 for her review of Camp CogKnitive on her podcast The Hollywood Knitter.

197: Pony Alarm Clock

Tirion Du took me for a grand ride all over the neighborhood this morning. After, when she was cool, I tried spraying her with the hose and found--she likes it! That's why her neck is shining--she was frolicking in the wet in the 90 degree weather.

The Lady is secretly an alarm clock!

Beachy Shawl for Camp Cog Cam-- in Just Beachy from Dizzy Blonde Studios.

#100happydays I finished my shawl from 2 skeins of Lambie Toes from Dizzy Blonde Studios in the Camp CogKnitive Colorway Just Beachy.

Not yet finished:

The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller--started again! On D chart.
One Row Lace Scarf--FROGGED! I just got so bored...
Halloween Linen Stitch Cowl--Mainly from Gnome Acres mini skeins in Halloween colorways.

Tutorial for the After-Thought Heel is here.

Dizzy Blondes:

Nothing much; just wheel maintenance time.

Strategy:
About waiting and being patient with yourself.

Put a Lid On It:

The kitchen is quiet, due to 100F heat. Yearning for a chance to make more pickles.

Aw Shoot!
90 minutes on the elliptical is my current standard. Weight loss stalled, but that’s okay because I seem to be building considerable muscle. Roxy is getting walks out in the neighborhood, but not much more in the heat. 10K run on elliptical easily achieved in August. The problems with using BMI as a guide to good health. Better method: circumference of waist to that of hips.

Blather:
CFR6 (of course). I have been felled by a rather nasty sinus infection for several weeks. Meanwhile, Tirion has become the alarm clock for the farm.

196: Walking Through Downtown Los Angeles

Downtown LA has its moments!

A pleasant stroll through downtown Los Angeles, where people who talk to themselves in microphones are a fairly common sight really...

What's On My Hooks, Needles, and Spindles:

Not yet finished:

Beachy Shawl for Camp Cog Cam--I'm on the second ball of yarn in Just Beachy from Dizzy Blonde Studios.
The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller--no work on this one.
One Row Lace Scarf--still in time out
The Blueberry Waffle Socks in colorway Witchwind from Forbidden Woolery --still on the second sock
Halloween Linen Stitch Cowl--mu current potato chip knitting standby.

Tutorial for the After-Thought Heel is here.

Dizzy Blondes:

I am sporadically still working on a silk-merino blend from Red Fish Dye Works on my 2 Ashford wheels. Here are my favorite online sources for spinning supplies and wheel parts:
Village Spin & Weave
Webs Yarn Store
The Woolery

Strategy:
When you get stuck, get out of it by starting with making small changes.

Put a Lid On It:

The kitchen is quiet, due to 100F heat.

Aw Shoot!
Still running indoors on the elliptical. Based on a recent study, running on the treadmill is only marginally better than using an elliptical to burn calories.

Summer Running Essentials:
Please remember to hydrate you and any running pals.
Important facts:
one gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds

Gather DTLA--an LYS with a lively Instagram feed in Downtown LA, run by my new friend Renaissance of Raghouse International Studios. Here is their FB. The store is at 453 S Spring, downtown L.A.

I'm at Gather in LA in the Last Bookstore at 5th & Spring, 2nd floor. Here is Renaissance, your hostess. She is wonderful so visit her!

Blather:
CFR6 (of course). We have 1 or 2 spaces left as of this writing. The hotel issue is still in flux, but there is some clarification. The rate will be $89.90 per night.

Clarification on the Open Carry Issue.

LA's historic and pretty Union Station

Visit Olvera Street!
You can see my pics of my Los Angeles wanderings here and on Instagram, where I am drgemma.

Here is my vote for complete bad taste in public...erections... it's in the financial district...

#100happydays my vote for "makes me shriek with laughter every time I walk past it". The tribute to who is in charge erected (sorry) in downtown LA next to several major banks.
