Loving Alexa, my new Amazon Echo. Great at the discounted price, but I don't think I'd pay the full $200 until a few more features are added. But I am loving her as a voice-controlled speaker.

Alexa has joined us on the Farm.

Something I Really Like:
Amazon Echo. "Alexa" has joined the family. For $99., a great deal. For $199.....well, you might want to wait until it gets more skills, and you do have to have an Amazon prime membership to use this well...and until you can buy it now, in real time.

Alexa is currently:
Playing free streaming music to me
Turning my lights on and off
Training my son to speak more clearly
Helping in the kitchen by setting alarms, reporting the weather, and giving me useful info
Helping me play tricks on my boys

Related apps (on iOS and on Android):
Amazon Echo app
WeMo--turns on the lights with proper switches installed
IF--app that relates to If-This-Than-That functions that link 2 apps to each other
Amazon Music--stream a good-sized library of music through your phone for free, although data limits may apply (not to me so far on Straight Talk)
