Chrisaaah on Afterthought everything: "Re: afterthought everything socks. I make my much-loved brother socks twice a year (birthday and Christmas) if I can manage it. The last few pairs have been total afterthought heel ones as I find the forethought heel (with waste yarn) makes little holes at the side. I knit bottom up to make the most of my yarn, knit a long tube and do my ribbing, and then when I have the time I’ll measure and cut in a heel. I’m very much pro-afterthoughts. I’ve also used tube knitting services for my brother’s socks and done afterthought everything!"
