Cogknitive Fiber Retreat 10 (2024): ALL INFO IS RIGHT HERE! It's the info thread on Ravelry.

Post #1 is the collected information. PLEASE feel free to correct me!

Cost: $30 per adult attendee—PayPal to gemmadw AT yahoo.com not refundable

Group projects:

Potchke’s Tunisian workshop—G hooks available from Oink at the retreat!
  • From our loyal teacher: “ I find size G (4 mm) in an unadorned style, to be perfect for Tunisian in fingering weight. “Unadorned” in this case means no ergonomic grip.

Personally, I prefer the Susan Bates style hook, with the in-line (non-bulbous) head.” And: “Bring your own fingering weight yarn (self-striping or variegated is a plus) and bring a size G non-ergonomic hook or you may buy one at the Oink Pigments stand”

We now know that our group knitting pattern and project is going probably to relate to making the lovely across-the -body-bags that Carmen makes. This gives everyone a chance to learn to make the ever-functional Granny Square to use up extra yarn in a fantastic and usable way. Stay tuned for details!

Something I Really Like:  aspirin.

Put a Lid on It: and something else I like!

I found my recipe: make 2, starting at bottom:
DK yarn (3). G/4.0 hook.
Chain 77 for 75 hdc to be 20” wide.
All HDC stitch. 16” length for body.
End with wrong side row. Tie off.
On to sleeves: Chain 9, then attach to main body, hdc across, then chain 11.
Then crochet back, 75 st plus the added 9 on each edge for sleeves. Keep going!
10” for sleeve section bottom to top. Tie off.
Sew side seams with wrong sides together.
Top line was 25 “ wide.
For a boat-neck, 7” wide neck opening; 9” each side sewn closed at shoulder line.
Crochet single crochet around neckline to reinforce it and prevent stretching.

Blather
Computer crash
Being the light:

Loretta is coming to CFRX!
